Dominic Candeloro, Ph.D., who has taught and written extensively on the Italian American experience, will discuss "Italian American Culture – At Risk of Being Lost?" at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the Center for Applied Learning and Technology (CALT) Room 100 at Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Candeloro grew up as an Italian in Chicago, in days when "being 100 percent Italian ... was not an advantage." However, he did well in school, earning a full-tuition scholarship at Northwestern University where he majored in United States history.
