Students from all levels of Italian joined the officers of the UW Italian Club on Friday to prepare a four-course meal together. On the menu was a caprese salad, pasta al pesto, duck breast in orange sauce (petto d'anatra all'arancia), and a mandarin sorbet. Everyone pitched in with shelling, peeling, slicing and boiling to get the dinner ready, speaking a mix of Italian and English and, of course, making a mess.
The work was well-rewarded with three delicious courses, despite the unfortunate failure of the sorbet (which declined to freeze in time for consumption).
