Accessibly priced premium entries from California have once again dominated Impact's "Hot Brands" wines list, but a handful of premium-plus newcomers (retailing at $15 and higher) also made the cut, displacing several major players within the market's competitive $8-$12 segment.
In all, 26 domestic wine brands earned Hot Brands honors for 2013, and 25 of them are from California. The list's sole non-California entry—a Washington state brand—also was in the premium-plus range, further pushing this year's list higher up the pricing ladder.
