For Middle'terranea, the first incarnation of two-month-old Mina Test Kitchen, Michael Mina found culinary inspiration in his Egyptian heritage, while chef Adam Sobel channeled his Jewish roots. While the temporary pop-up restaurant experiment was very well received, it was expected to be short-lived, and we now have an end-date: Saturday, October 24th.
Not to fret, just a week later, Saturday, October 31st, the Test Kitchen will launch its new concept: Little Italy. This time, Sobel will focus on his Italian American family ties. The chef, who grew up on Long Island, says that this menu is a tribute to his "Nana's" rustic Italian immigrant cooking.
