Loosen the belt, or better yet put on some sweats, because Buono’s Pizzeria will serve an all-you-can-eat Italian feast Sunday, Jan. 26, in San Pedro’s Little Italy as part of a grand opening for the new location. Originally located on Gaffey Street for more than 50 years, the restaurant moved to a much bigger 3,000-square-foot facility at 222 W. Sixth St. that features an 800-degree Neapolitan pizza oven that bakes pizzas in about 90 seconds.
Sunday’s grand opening for the new location will feature the “Sundays at Mama’s House Buffet” for $10 per person from noon until 8 p.m. The meal will include dishes such as farfalle alfredo with chicken and broccoli, rigatoni al forno with meat sauce, plus an eggplant parmigiana with meatballs, Italian sausage with peppers and onions and, of course, pizzas.
