Domenico’s has always been my go to place for pizza in the local area. Almost invariably, I will gravitate to their Calabrese style (as done in Calabria, Italy, with a base of olive oil, garlic and cheese without tomato sauce), light cheese and an array of toppings including meatballs, Italian sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers and artichoke hearts and of course, a sprinkling of hot pepper flakes.
The dough is pliant with just enough resistance when you bite into it to provide a pleasant chewiness, without giving your jaw too much of a workout. So, for this article, I’ve opted to expand my palate to include some other dishes. One item, which I’d say up front you shouldn’t miss is their spicy chicken soup.
