Expectations are very positive, as this is the first show of 2018 after the closing of a very good 2017 for the exports of Italian food and wine to the US. This is what Maurizio Forte, Director of the Italian Trade Agency in New York, told Italianfood.net at the Winter Fancy Food Show 2018 in San Francisco.
As for US buyers at the exhibition, Mr. Forte said that basically, they want new things in terms of ingredients, packaging, etc., and Italian companies are responding very well. We are also providing Italian exhibitors with an additional service to give them more opportunities to meet buyers – added Mr. Forte. Moreover, we are focusing on consumers as we want them to check the products’ labels. Then, we will soon launch a huge program to promote Italian wine in the USA”.
