Our BIG fundraiser and Ravioli Tournament at Henry's World Famous Hi-LIfe is next Sunday!!! This is one of our big events for the year and is a can't miss event! Our Ravioli Judges are set to decide whose Ravioli is best. Thanks you to famous Italian tenor Pasquale Esposito, Rich Firato from the Downtown Icon (Firato Ravioli), Linda (Bozzo) Zavoral, Food Editor for the San Jose Mercury News, and Carolyn Allen-Samavarchian, owner of the recently closed Paolo's Restaurant. This is a serious competition.... Thus Far South Bay Ravioli powerhouses La Villa Ravioli, and Antipasto's by DeRose have entered the competition and we are still finalizing contestants. If you are interested email Joshua at [email protected]
Our event on Sunday September 20th is not just a Ravioli Tournament. This event will be the first event collaboration between Henry's High life and our Little Italy San Jose Foundation. We are very excited the Henry's High Life family wants to help raise money for our Italian Museum and hope you will support this event and learn more about the Italian roots of Henry's High Life as the former Torino Hotel. We will have a photo exhibit depicting the last 115 years of this landmark building in San Jose. In addition to your Ravioli and Beer and Wine at this event, your $40 ticket will also include Henry's High Life famous Baby Back Ribs, Salad and Garlic Bread.
$100,000 Matching Grant offer for Museum!
Little Italy has received a $100,000 matching grant offer on the condition that we raise another $100,000 from other donors or Fundraising events. With this potential matching Grant offer, Little Italy has now fundraised $660,000 in Monetary and In Kind Donations for the Museum, but is still well short of our Goal of $900,000 just to be able to start construction on this exciting project. This is a big boost for our Italian Cultural center & Museum that is struggling to start construction with a budget shortfall after our Little Italy Foundation used $70,000 of our own funds to install our 31 foot "Little Italy" Arch. We hope to continue to inch closer to the $240,000 needed to move forward with this project at our large fundraiser event on September 20th at Henry's High Life.
