New Jersey may be known as the Garden State, but it might as well be the Gabagool State. The number of Italian delis in Hoboken alone rivals most states. So it’s no surprise us New Jerseyans know a thing or two about Italian subs. And it’s no surprise that two of our Italian subs were just named among the best in the country.
Mashed.com recently released a list of the 15 best Italian subs in the United States. White House Sub Shop in Atlantic City and Sugar Hill Sub Shop in Mays Landing both made the cut. White House’s “White House Special,” a classic Italian sandwich with extra salami, provolone, ham and capicola, made the list for the Atlantic City legend, which has served everyone from the Beatles to Justin Bieber.
