Michael Symon, Iron Chef and co-host of ABC’s “The Chew,” opened his first Italian-themed venture, Angeline, to huge fanfare in Atlantic City last month. But look past all the media exclamations of “Mamma mia!” and celebrity chef ballyhoo, and you’ll find that Angeline might just be the honest and unguarded account of everything that has made Symon the chef he is today.
To be sure, there was a daily buzz outside of Angeline in the weeks before it opened unlike anything Borgata employees had seen before, even with the casino’s established collection of dining options fronted by the likes of Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck.
