It's time to spotlight some merchants in Silver Lake. The first on deck will be...drum roll please...Errico Violante. He started as a butcher's apprentice when he was 14 in Forino, a small town outside of Naples, Italy. He was the youngest in a family of seven children.
In 1964 he left Italy and came to the United States. His dream was to open a store of his own one day. Well, his dream came true in August of 1982 when he opened the doors as R. Violante & Son Meat Market in Silver Lake, Belleville.
