J. Emanuel Chocolatier in Chester welcomes guest Giovanni Borreca, owner of Il Nudo Napoletano confection shop in Avellino, Italy, for an afternoon of free chocolate demonstrations and tastings from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at 461B Main Street in Chester. Borreca will discuss the Italian process of making chocolate and the differences between Italian cioccolato and American chocolate and will demonstrate how he creates edible pieces of art using unique molds and marbleized designs.
"If you can't get to Italy, Italy will be coming to you," said Michael Canzano, owner of J. Emanuel Chocolatier. "You'll enjoy an exclusive experience that you can't get anywhere else and it should be fun." An Italian sommelier and chocolatier, Borreca's approach is based on the ancient artisanal Neapolitan tradition of homemade chocolate pralines.
