An Italian cafe/restaurant called Fiore is on the way to the former Kanella South space in Queen Village. Ed Crochet and Justine MacNeil, two pedigreed chefs last in New York, have signed a lease for 757 S. Front St., which last was Kanella South after a brief spell as Village Belle, which followed a decades-long run as Frederick's. (Kanella's Konstantinos Pitsillides has since decamped to his original BYOB location at 10th and Spruce.)
Crochet describes Fiore as "casual-ish, but not overly casual — professional at the same time." As an example, he suggested somewhere between the earthy airs of the nearby Hungry Pigeon and the polish of, say, Vernick in Rittenhouse.
