While Tex-Mex is easily the most uniquely Texan food and barbecue is a ubiquitous Texas staple, five family-owned Italian joints have made their stay in Montgomery County. Luigi's serves southern Italian food cooked to order, according to owner Marko Rezart. He says this allows people to easily switch ingredients or orders and it be fresh.
This is Luigi's fourth location, but Rezart doesn't consider it a chain – more like several family-owned restaurants in New York and Dallas. Luigi's has been in the Houston area for seven years. "We like to work in small communities so that people can have a different choice besides a chain company's food," Rezart said.
