Italian Station, a Europe-themed coffee bar and casual eatery, announced it will open March 14 at 620 Caroline St. in downtown Fredericksburg. The business is the newest project by Vinny Vitale, the owner of Vinny’s Italian Grill & Pizzaria and Basilico Italian Market/New York Deli, and will be run by business partner and general manager Anita Crossfield.
Crossfield, a 12-year veteran of coffee shops, said the business is hiring baristas, cooks and customer service employees. She said the shop, located on the ground floor of the Courtyard Fredericksburg Historic District hotel, will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Crossfield called the shop “entirely Italian,” from the décor to the recipes.
