Longtime Chesapeake pizzeria is moving to Virginia Beach

When Vinicio Fabbrizi arrived in Virginia from his native Italy, he could fix pipes, but whether he could fix a pizza was unknown.More than three decades later, Fabbrizi’s Andrea’s Pizzeria is one of Chesapeake’s most enduring mom and pop businesses. However, the link with Chesapeake is about to be severed as Fabbrizi, 71, and his son, Vinicio “Vinny” Fabbrizi move from Great Bridge to Virginia Beach on May 1.

They blame inadequate parking at their Cedar Road location for the move, but hope their loyal clientele will follow them to the Beach. It’s a small move compared to the one the elder Fabbrizi made from his native Palermo in Sicily in the 1970s. Fabbrizi came to Virginia at the age of 27 to work at a restaurant run by his brother-in-law, Andrea.
