New Italian eatery and bocce ball venue coming to Howell gets $25K boost from the state

A state grant will meet some of the costs of the more than $1 million renovation that will turn a vacant former office building into Coratti's, a new Italian restaurant, bar and indoor bocce ball venue in downtown Howell.  "We're getting everything brand new, and, at the end of the day, we're converting an old office building into a great restaurant," co-owner Anthony Coratti said. 

He said a $25,000 Match on Main grant awarded by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will help Coratti's ownership purchase kitchen equipment and furnishings, including expensive Neapolitan wood-fired pizza ovens, which run $50,000 to $100,000 apiece.
