Restaurant review: Dani's Italian Bistro of Tottenville hits the right notes

There is something about Tottenville that is particularly charming in the fall. Perhaps its the quiet pace and "old" Staten Island feel of Main Street, or the idea of taking in the colorful foliage set against a seaside backdrop at The Conference House. But at this time of year it is an enjoyable place to spend a day, especially with all the food options in town.


Then, there are cozy little restaurants like Dani's Bistro, a fairly new, petite hideaway with some cozy, cool weather foods. Candles and low lighting make the linen-cloth restaurant a rather romantic spot. And, that "Dani" in the restaurant's namesake, by the way, would be Dani Improta, formerly the chef at now shuttered, but rather well-liked, Luigino's Restaurant in Annadale.
