A major retail stretch just of Downtown Newark is officially home to a new eatery as an experienced restaurant group has launched Sugo inside the Springfield Avenue Marketplace. Sugo, which specializes in pizza and Italian food, recently opened inside a storefront at 48 Jones Street. The restaurant occupies 2,100 square feet at the grocery-anchored neighborhood shopping center that is managed by Levin Management Corporation (LMC).
LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad negotiated the lease on behalf of the retail center’s ownership, while Tania Pesante of Real Broker LLC represented the tenant. The operator of Sugo is an experienced restaurateur who also owns Assaggini Di Roma, a popular Italian restaurant in Hazlet.
