In 2013, the owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers officially declared Port Orange’s Giuseppe’s Steel City Pizza an official “Citizen of Steelers Nation.” A framed copy of that proclamation is proudly displayed at the restaurant now known as Giuseppe’s Penn Pizza Co. You don’t have to be a Steelers fan to be a fan of the food at Giuseppe’s.
News-Journal Business Editor Clayton Park decided on a Saturday afternoon, after a long work week, to have a casual dinner there with a friend. The inside is like a shrine to Pittsburgh sports teams, not just the Steelers, but also the Pirates and Penguins, with all sorts of cool memorabilia and photos. The motto of the restaurant is “Pennsylvania Proud,” and, boy, do they mean it.
