While millions of people celebrated the new year this weekend, Paisan's Italian restaurant would normally be celebrating its anniversary — December 31. However, because of its location at 131 W. Wilson Street, staff members didn't gather in celebration, but faced the grim reality of closure.
"I think I've finally gotten that point to say that I don't think we're ever going to operate out of 131 W. Wilson again," Paisan's owner Wally Borowski said. "And that's a shame." Borowski and his staff have been forced out of the building twice due to structural concerns within the building's parking structure. The building's owners have failed to follow through on repairs and submitting necessary documents to the city.
