CANTON Scott and Kim Shapiro, the owners of TD's Tailgate Grill at 2236 Tuscarawas St. W, decided earlier this year to split the sports-themed restaurant in half and add a separate Italian restaurant in the newly created space.
I attended a soft opening of Cavatelli's Italian Kitchen shortly before its June 2 opening. Invited to order anything off the menu, a friend and I chose an appetizer and two pasta entrees. The food was excellent, not surprising considering the high-caliber pub grub at TD's, which is now sharing the kitchen with Cavatelli's.
