The Italian BMT combines salami, ham and pepperoni complete with customers' favorite toppings. The classic combination has made it a top-seller for years, and it was one of the first sub sandwiches offered at Subway, said manager Gina Shearn. "People like that Italian meat combo. It's really great topped with Italian dressing," she said.
The BMT Italian's unique name was inspired by the Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit, but customers also know it as Bigger Meatier and Tastier. Shearn said it continues to be a popular seller, with many customers ordering the Italian BMT each day. "On a given day, we sell a good 15 BMT sandwiches during my 6 to 2 shift," she said.
