A less-buttoned-up spinoff of celeb chef Fabio Viviani's Siena Tavern is set to open this summer on Restaurant Row. As previously reported by Crain's, Bar Siena, an 8,000-square-foot, 180-seat Italian restaurant/pizza bar/doughnut shop is working toward a summer opening at the corner of Randolph and Green streets, with traveling chef and tireless self-promoter Viviani at the helm.
Viviani and chef Jeremy Tannehill, formerly of Public House, are working on a rotating menu that purports to pay homage to different Italian regions with a focus on street food, pizza and small plates. It also will have a carved-out bakery and cafe that will serve Italian doughnuts, gelato, Italian ice and coffee from an exterior service window on Green Street.
