Although I have lived most of my life in Midland, I’ve found quite a surprising number of restaurants that I have not dined at, at least not in my memory. One of them is Mancino’s Pizza and Grinders. The one thing that piqued my interest about Mancino’s is its selection of grinders. I’d heard of subs and sandwiches and hoagies before, but not grinders.
Mancino’s, located at 301 S. Saginaw Road in Midland, is one of those “blink and you miss it” places located right on the cusp of Ashman Circle. Most of the time, my mind is so busy watching the traffic, praying I’ll make the light, that Mancino’s doesn’t register on my radar. Now that I’ve finally stopped there and discovered what a grinder is, I’ll be sure to make a note to keep it in mind.
