Pompei Little Italy in Orland Park will reopen in about a week with a new name and new hours.
Davino's Restaurant will be the new name at 8801 W. 143rd Street with a tentative reopening date of Wednesday, Sept. 12. The menu of Italian staples, including house made pastas, pizzas, salads, sandwiches and pizza strudels will mostly remain the same, though more specials will be part of Davino's. The name comes from owners Rosemary and Ralph Davino, son and daughter-in-law of Luigi Davino, who opened the first Pompei on Taylor Street in 1909.
