A new Italian restaurant has made its debut in the Elliot Park Hotel. Located at 823 Fifth Ave. in downtown Minneapolis, the newcomer is called Tavola Italian Kitchen + Bar. The restaurant offers Tuscan-inspired cuisine and farm-to-table specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Morning offerings include the Maialino Breakfast pizza with cochinita, arugula, caramelized onion, bacon jam and an egg, and the Italian toast brûlée with cinnamon swirl toast, cream cheese, fresh berries, orange spice and graham cracker crust.
At lunch, there are wood-fired tortas, including one with roasted seasonal vegetables, and pizzas. In the evening, dine on risotto with wild boar, oxtail and mussels; house-made ravioli filled with goat cheese, tomato, eggplant and olives; a chargrilled New York strip steak; and pan-seared salmon with grilled artichokes.
