Welcome Reception for Isabella Dalla Ragione

Oct 16, 2014 1155

For thousands of years, peasants in Umbria and Tuscany cultivated fruit trees and family orchards. This way of life ended after the Second World War. The varieties in these regions were replaced, first, by generic fruit and, more recently, by fruit from other countries. Italian author and agronomist, Isabella Dalla Ragione will give a lecture at Minneapolis Institute of Arts in November linking frescoes found in palazzos in Umbria with species in her orchard, an open-air museum of heirloom and forgotten fruits.

We are delighted to host Isabella at the ICC for an informal meet-and-greet reception on Saturday, Nov. 1st at 6 PM. We invite you to meet Isabella and learn more about her extraordinary work celebrating art and nature. Please register here.
Light appetizers and beverages (including wine) will be served. Donations and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Isabella's latest project Archeologia Arborea Foundation.
