Newport (RI) restaurants Sardella’s and Imbriglio’s are teaming up for a good cause this MLK holiday weekend. From January 17-20, they’re donating 20% of their sales or $10,000 (whichever is higher) to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Newport. Patrick Fitzgerald, who co-owns the restaurants with Richard Sardella, says he’s excited about supporting the MLK Center.

This fundraiser comes as Sardella’s gears up for its 45th anniversary in 2025. The MLK Center’s executive director, Heather Hole Strout, is thrilled about the timing of this generous offer. She explains that the donations will help provide over a million meals a year through various programs, including food pantries, senior meal deliveries, and school initiatives.
