Joe Auciello, who attended culinary school at Newbury College, previously ran Francesca's Kitchen in Arlington and has worked at other restaurants in the area.
In December 2015, he opened Wood + Fire in Melrose, featuring a more streamlined menu and dishes that use flour and sauces imported from Naples, plus fresh ingredients like mozzarella. Chef Omar Castillo has been with him for 11 years. "He runs my kitchen," said Auciello. "He has a lot of passion for it."
