It didn't take long for the word to spread that Calabresella New York Style Deli opened Wednesday on Park Avenue. With a Facebook post and the telltale sign of cars in the parking lot, the customers started trickling in.
"I love the steak sandwiches here," Mike Valente remarked as he walked in the door for a cup of coffee with his son, Chris. The two operate a construction company and manage properties in the Park Avenue neighborhood, but they regularly make the trek to the Gates location at lunchtime. "We're happy to see it around here," Mike Valente said. "I think it's an asset to the area. It's nice to have a family owned business and not a franchise."
