Big food news in Ridgewood: an Italian market and restaurant called Stella Artisan Italian is scheduled to open in September at 18 E. Ridgewood Ave, the former site of Due's first location. A former star Manhattan pastry chef is involved in the project, which is being opened by the owners of the Ridgewood pizza restaurant S. Egidio.
Stella, which is scheduled to open next month, will be open from breakfast to dinner, featuring house-made pastas, charcuterie and sandwiches for lunch, and dinner entrees such as porchetta (slow-roasted pork), osso bucco and grilled ribeye steaks.
