Downtown Syracuse dining: Apizza Regionale starts lunch; Peppino's Pomodoro coming soon

The latest news on the downtown Syracuse dining scene involves two places that specialize in Italian food and brick-oven pizzas.


• Apizza Regionale. It opened in April at 260 W. Genesee St., and his been serving dinner only since then. Today, it starts serving lunch as well. Lunch hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Apizza, which uses mostly New York ingredients to make wood-fired, brick-oven pizzas, salads, pastas and more, is adding Italian-influenced sandwiches for the lunch menu. It also has lunch-size pizzas. See the lunch menu. Dinner hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday; 5 to 11 p.m. Friday; 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
