In advance of Eataly Vino's six-month closure mandated by the State Liquor Authority, the wine shop is offering its entire selection which includes more than a thousand bottles and cases of wine from Italy and New York, a few of which are only found at Eataly, at a 25 percent discount.
The closure is part of a penalty imposed against the Batali and Bastianich Hospitality Group and the "interlocking interests" amongst its restaurants. The restaurant group was also subject to a $500,000 fine. The penalty from the State Liquor Authority will not affect Eataly or any other of the group's other restaurants.
