Joseph R. Gannascoli — who played beefy mobster Vito Spatafore on “The Sopranos” — has been surprising New York-area Italian-food lovers with his cooking skills. The actor and foodie was spotted cooking up “spaghetti carbonara in a Parmesan wheel tableside” at Matteo’s of Roslyn on Wednesday night, we hear, to the delight of diners.
One fan of his fare at the eatery was Burt Young — the “Rocky” star who famously played Paulie. Both dapper dons posed for a pic — wearing all black. We hear that Gannascoli is an in-demand guest chef at a number of Long Island and Queens eateries, including Forest Hills restaurant Tazzina, Matteo’s Roslyn and Huntington locations and Vincent’s Clam Bar in Carle Place, LI.
