The gist: Little Italy has long been a destination for OG Italian-American joints that are often set their ways, but newcomer Aunt Jake's Italian Specialties lets the diner decide with customizable pastas and more. Following the made-to-order, counter service trend popularized by chains like Chipotle, Aunt Jake's offers customizable pasta bowls, as well as pre-set, à la carte options for the less adventurous diner.
The menu changes daily, however, so drop by soon to see what's hot. The food: Those who choose to create their own bowl can select from a daily rotation of six housemade pastas: basic, gluten-free and organic versions of every shape from cavatelli to rigatoni.
