If the Lehigh Valley’s first heat wave of the year had you seeking ice cream and other chilled treats, take note of the area’s latest hot spot for frozen favorites. Villa Grande Pizzeria and Family Restaurant, which opened four years ago at 225 W. Northampton St. in Bath, on June 2 debuted an addition offering Gino’s Italian Ice and Ice Cream. Co-owner Nori Tomini fell in love with the Brooklyn-made treats while growing up in the New York City borough.
He operates Villa Grande with his father, Jimmy, and three brothers, Alfani, Albion and Leonardo. “Our grandmother owned a pizzeria in Queens for 35 years and my father for 17 years in Long Island after that,” Nori said. “Growing up in these restaurants, [my brothers and I] loved going to visit them not only for the delicious pizza, but also so we can have some Gino’s Italian Ice. So now we bring that experience to the Lehigh Valley.”
