Super-famous-for-Italy pizzaiolo Gino Sorbillo of Naples is preparing to open his pizzeria Sorbillo NYC (334 Bowery) by late September. It’s his second New York restaurant but more of a U.S. flagship than Zia Esterina, the fast-casual pizza fritta restaurant he opened in Little Italy earlier this year.
The pizzeria will have approximately 60 seats, including a large bar, and will feature his oversized, soft-crust Neapolitan pizza topped with high-quality ingredients that garner hours-long waits back in Naples.
