Palma Longo can close her eyes and savor the aromas and tastes that she says helped define the Italian-American neighborhoods she grew up in on Endicott's North Side.
"You'd walk down the street at Oak Hill Avenue and you'd smell the spiedies cooking outside," she said. "Everyone had a great barber and a garden in the backyard — tomatoes, zucchini and peppers."
