With five locations on Long Island, including one in Port Washington, and another opening this fall in Melville, Uncle Giuseppe’s is celebrating its 20th anniversary with sales at all of its locations through the end of this month.
The founders of the chain, Carl DelPrete, Philip DelPrete and Thomas Barresi, bought a produce and deli store in East Meadow that was struggling, Melissa Urena, the marketing manager, said. They opened an Italian “one-stop-shop” marketplace in November 1998, calling it Uncle Giuseppe’s.
