Designer Vincent Celano has just completed the design of Racanelli New York Italian, a casual yet modern restaurant.

The restaurant, which opened in December, pays homage to the Racanelli family and their original Pizza and Brew restaurant, which has been around for 40 years. The space blends modern and rustic elements, with wood beams, metal detailing, exposed brick, and raised wood paneling found throughout.

The approximately 4,680-square-foot eatery includes a 24-seat bar, communal banquette seating in the main dining room, and an outdoor dining space.

The design for this new restaurant concept pays homage to the original Racanelli's Pizza and Brew establishment in White Plains.

The interiors blend the old with the new: warm tones including bronze and chocolate are fused with textures like leathers, woods, and marble. Additional touches such as exposed filament bulb lighting, marble hostess stands, and iconic black and white porcelain tile flooring further the rustic and modern style.

Furnishings vary where seating like lush leather booths and comfortable old-fashioned chairs are juxtaposed against tabletops made of solid wood and supported by industrial steel bases. Vibrant decorative fixtures and stain glass murals repurposed from the existing restaurant are also used to providing a contrast to the many traditional touches in the space.
