Downtown Charleston newcomer Sorelle, a project curated by James Beard Awardwinning chef Michael Mina and Charleston Place buyer Beemok Hospitality Collection, has had Broad Street buzzing day and night since opening Feb. 15.
Sorelle (so-reh-lay) is the first Italian restaurant for Mina, whose MINA Group portfolio includes more than 40 restaurants in nine states, Washington, D.C., and Dubai. The restaurant’s name, which translates to “sisters” in Italian, pays homage to the 88 Broad St. space, the former home of a late-1800s school run by two women.
