Louisville-based entrepreneur Ulysses "Junior" Bridgeman is joining with The Cordish Cos. that operates Fourth Street Live! to open an Italian restaurant called BirraCibo at the downtown entertainment hub. The 9,000-square-foot restaurant will be located in the former Ri Ra Irish Pub at 445 S. 4th St. It will specialize in artisanal pizzas, wine and craft beer and will open Feb. 29.
Birra in Italian means beer and cibo means meal. The business will seat more than 100 and offer an outdoor dining patio as well as a station behind the 45-foot-long main bar that will serve fresh cheese and meat selections. It will have two private rooms for functions.
