If you ask Pizzantica owner and manager Tony Mari what is unique about his restaurant, located at 780 Leonard Ave., Albemarle, he is quick to let you know that the faire served there is authentic Italian.
“Our family is true Italian, right off the boat,” said Mari. “I’m second generation, and came to the USA about 20 years ago. My two partners at Pizzantica are Italian as well, and one has been here (in the USA) 30 years, while the other has been here five.” A soccer enthusiast and recreational player, the Pizzantica chief participates in adult soccer leagues in Statesville and Huntersville, while living in Mooresville and commuting to and from Albemarle daily.
