Cerrato’s Italian Market and Deli does not look like much. Tucked away at the end of a little plaza that could use some smartening-up, it’s fairly easy to miss as you whiz along New Haven Avenue.
Inside, it’s pretty unpretentious too, with hand-penned signs, cleaning products piled up along one wall, Italian/Italian-American products on shelves, tears in chair coverings and a crowded counter-refrigerator over which you shout orders to employees. The menu is high on the wall behind the counter.
