When it comes to Derby City cuisine, seafood isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind. But getting fresh ocean fare is easier than one might think, thanks to Louisville being a UPS hub. This fact has left me pleasantly surprised by the numerous seafood dishes at various restaurants around town, including Osteria Italian Seafood in Westport Village.
The eatery was recently opened by Jared Fox Matthews, who also owns Lou Lou Food & Drink, Lou Lou on Market, Black Rabbit, and The Fox Den. This week, I chatted with him about how Osteria Italian Seafood came to be, which menu items are must-try, and what’s on deck for the holidays.
