Eataly Dallas, the Italian food purveyor whose fresh and filled pastas we adore, is bringing a special dinner with a show to its Dallas pizza and pasta restaurant next week. On Friday, October 21, chefs from the Rome restaurant that invented Fettuccine Alfredo in 1914 will be producing and serving the original recipe at Eataly Dallas.
Mario Mozzetti, the third-generation owner of that restaurant, Alfredo alla Scrofa, will be on hand with his team to cook and serving the dish tableside from 5 pm. until 10 p.m. at Eataly’s La Pizza & La Pasta restaurant. Constructed with housemade pasta, butter, and Parmigiano Reggiano, nothing could be simpler — or more complex (good cooks make it look easy). That dish, served the same way for 108 years at Alfredo alla Scrofa, in Rome, quickly became famous.
