Downtown Austin gets a new Italian restaurant this week: Numero 28 Pizzeria And Vineria is now soft open at 452 W. 2nd Street. The restaurant is a collaboration between co-owner Bernardo Nolfo and the New York based mini-chain Numero 28.
The New York City restaurants focus primarily on Neapolitan pizza, but the Austin location serves a full menu of antipastis, salads, and entrees. Pizza will be added in the coming weeks; the restuarant's wood-fired oven suffered setbacks from contractor woes.
