Astros owner Jim Crane has opened two restaurants at the 500 Crawford apartment building adjacent to Minute Maid Park: Osso & Kristalla, a casual, all-day trattoria; and this dinner-only, upscale Italian restaurant where Crane pulled out all the stops.
THE SPACE. Potente's main dining room is quietly sumptuous, outfitted with plush high-back chairs and dramatic lighting. There are two seating options: a more romantic interior space, and an L-shape terrace that hugs the corner of Texas and Crawford streets with windows that brighten the room (and afford a direct view of the ballpark). An eight-seat wine table enclave is accessible only by passing through the busy kitchen.
