The Taste of Italy Houston calls itself the country's largest food and wine trade fair devoted exclusively to Italian products. And for the first two years, the trade show was open only to those in the wine and food industry. Until this year: The 2017 Taste of Italy Houston, to be held on March 6 at the Omni Houston Hotel, is welcoming the public to its extravaganza for the first time.
The trade fair, sponsored by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas, which will feature seminars as well as wine and food tastings, will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Omni, 4 Riverway, Houston. Registration is free. This year's show will feature more than 60 Italian winemakers and food producers. Celebrity sommelier David Lynch, author of "Vino Italian," will be the guest speaker.
